You served. You belong at Post 9.

Under the LEGION Act of 2019, eligibility covers any active-duty service from December 7, 1941 to the present, plus the WWI era. If you served at least one day of active duty and were honorably discharged, or you’re currently serving, you’re almost certainly eligible.

Eligibility

Everyone who served has a seat.

Membership in The American Legion is open to eligible veterans and current members of the U.S. Armed Forces. Whether you left active duty last year or decades ago, you’ll find friendship, purpose, and real opportunities to keep serving your community through Post 9.

How to join

Four steps in.

  1. 1Confirm you meet eligibility requirements (see above, or ask us, we’ll help you check).
  2. 2Complete a membership application (form or downloadable PDF).
  3. 3Attend a meeting, 2nd Tuesday of every month, 7:00–8:00 PM at the Veterans Memorial Building, and meet the Post.
  4. 4Pay annual dues and get sworn in.
